Pumpkin has said goodbye
Pumpkin passed away last Oct. 28, 2006. We all thought she was going to make it. She was free from infection but her body was left too weak from her bout with the illness. I was feeling anxious the day before, the following day I brought her back to the clinic for a check up. I was really scared then because she was just lying down. She was quiet throughout the whole ride to the clinic. She was given amino acids and she had a needle attached to her arm for IV fluids. An hour later, she was gone. She passed away on my bed, my sister and I held her until she breathed her last. Later on that night I couldn't sleep. I kept thinking about her lying on my bed and sleeping beside me. When she got back from the hospital she would sleep in my room at night. She would sometimes share my pillow and I would wake up with her head beside mine.

We are so, so sorry. We can't imagine what you have been through, to loose the cats one after another. Please, try to remember the good times with them and open your heart to new cats when you are ready. You did your best, all anyone could do against this horrible, awful disease. Your cats knew love until the very end. My heart goes out to you, breaks for you and your lovely furkids.

I can't think of anything to say, because of the magnitude of your loss.
You and your little ones have been in our prayers since we first read about it.
Your little babies were loved and they knew it, and you did everything -- and then some -- that you could do.
They are waiting for you, watching you, somewhat nearby, and I truly believe if and when the time is right, they will guide a new companion to you.

I lost my first 2 cats to FIP. Reading your posts brought it all back to me, and how awful it was. I'm thinking of you and will perform the 'harkening' ritual for Pumpkin.

I'm so sorry you lost your cat. I lost my Smokey a few years ago from a tumor in his leg caused by the rabies shots. He could have lived if we'd taken his leg but he had half a dozen other things going on and I was afraid he would suffer too much after losing his leg. It was the best choice but I miss him so much. I know what its like to lose a cat that would sleep with you in the night and even share a pillow purring content.
